+ In 2013, CUFFH successfully prevented segregated housing from being developed at the Broadway Triangle site in Brooklyn. As CUFFH's first major campaign, this was a major victory for the organization and the surrounding community.
+ CUFFH negotiated Community Benefit Agreements securing affordable units at multiple housing developments including (1) the Domino Site: Negotiated 700 affordable housing units accurately reflecting the income of working families in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, (2) Reade Property Group: Secured community land for the creation of approximately 90 units of senior housing in Bushwick, Brooklyn.
+ CUFFH made the affordable housing application process more simple and accessible to all community members. In 2015, this advocacy helped HPD make changes to their affordable housing marketing approach, providing applications in multiple languages and removing barriers for undocumented families.
+ In 2014-15 CUFFH helped more than 5,000 Brooklyn families apply for affordable housing, receive tenant rights information, and learn the basic financial literacy needed to obtain an affordable housing unit.
These victories were made possible in partnership with The Broadway Triangle Coalition, Rheingold Construction Committee, HPD Ambassadors, and Transfiguration Federal Credit Union.
